The dutch designer Maarten Baas deals in the unexpected. His is very intuitive and spontanious in his own way of creating. Maarten´s genius lies in recognizing that there is more than one kind of beauty. In collaborating with Bas den Herder, who is now responsible for the production and development of almost all of Maarten designs, he creates not only the furniture he is know for. The studio now produces on a slightly larger scale, though most of the pieces continue to be made by hand according to his own seasonal schedule.
