Artist Idun Baltzersen will now take part in the exhibition ”Signature Women” at Artipelag from the 8 March. She has developed a special way of working with large-scale woodcuts. Her work has often a girl turning away from the viewer. The female figures who turn their backs to us hold various references. They block our view – or insight – into their world; the world of the next generation. Baltzersen has created an image of liberated girls with the self-confidence to reject us, and it can be experienced as both provocative and enticing.
